Deep Creek Lake
Nestled in the scenic mountains of Western Maryland, Deep Creek Lake offers travelers a unique four season destination. Covering 3,900 acres with over 69 miles of shoreline, the lake makes for a full day of boating, fishing, and waterskiing … or a relaxing day at the beach.
Swallow Falls
A popular tourist destination, Swallow Falls showcases some of Maryland’s most breathtaking scenery, as well as it’s highest free-falling water fall - Muddy Creek Falls. The park offers miles of hiking trails for all abilities, picnic areas, and camping. Keep an eye out for kayakers on the white water!
Winter Skiing
The mountainous terrain of Western Maryland makes it a perfect location for snow and fantastic winter skiing. Nearby Wisp Resort offers 34 slopes for downhill skiing or you can try your hand at cross-country skiing at one of the seven state parks or the lake when frozen over.

You need only drive a few minutes from the farm to enjoy numerous options for cocktail hours, local craft beer and extensive wine selections. Mountain Fresh Market
Head to downtown Oakland every Wednesday and Saturday from May through October for the Mountain Fresh Farmer’s Market. You’ll find fresh produce, handmade goods, and delectable treats from local farmers, artisans, and bakers. Be sure to check out the award-winning cheeses from Firefly Farms, made right here in Garrett County.
